WASD Consolidation 2026-2027
Over the past several years, the district has reviewed a variety of strategies and options to improve our academic and social-emotional programming for students; especially those in the middle school ages. In order to meet those needs in a developmentally appropriate environment, the district will be implementing some significant changes .starting the 2026-2027 school year.
Beginning next school year, students in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will be housed at the Secondary Center as the Wyoming Area Middle School. What is currently the “Math Wing” of the Secondary Center will be the new dedicated space for 6th grade students and teachers. All of the Middle School Classrooms will be located in the area on the first and second floors at the front of the building. With the expectation of lunch and related art
classes, the Middle School students will have extremely limited interactions with students in grades 9 through 12.
