Websites containing activities and games for all subjects.

The following websites offer educational activities and games for most subjects and common core.

The District is encouraging 3 sessions per day (Each session is based on the student’s grade level. K-2= 10 minutes per session; Grades 3-6= 25 minutes per session; Grades 7-8= 35 minutes per session; Grades 9-12= 40 minutes per session).  


ABCya 

A great site for games and mobile apps for elementary students. Games can be searched by Common Core State Standards as well as Next Generation Science Standards.

Answerables

An innovative site that is a cross between game- based learning and a learning management system, helping educators to "gamify" a lesson.

Arcademics 

Game based learning (K-8th grade) in a wide range of subjects. It includes an educational portal that allows teachers to monitor student progress, generate detailed reports, and assess student learning. 

Badaboom 

A new site where educators can create quizzes and games and have students answer them on their mobile devices. Inspired by “Kahoot!, the app’s makers claim it offer more and better features.

Braineos

This easy-to-use site offers games based on flash cards in a wide variety of subjects and topics, including English, math, sciences, and languages.

BrainNook 

A fun app for students that focuses on English and math. Also, there is a teacher portal with a wealth of resources for educators.

Bubbabrain

Lots of games for elementary, middle and high school and even AP and college games. Teachers and students can create their own games easily as well.

Classcraft

Ideal for self-paced learning, Classcraft allows educators to turn their routine curriculum into personalized quests.

Cookie

A great site for educational games and teacher resources, offering other resources such as stories, worksheets, arts and crafts and more.

Creativity Games

A simple site offering creative word games to help spur brain creativity.

Creating Music 

Kids learn about music through games like Pitch, Comparing and Playing with Scales.

DimensionU

An innovative site where kids can learn math and literacy (grades 3-9) playing multiplayer video games in a 3D virtual world.

Educandy

Turns teachers’ quiz questions into interactive learning games in minutes. A shareable code lets kids play the educational games and activities.

Fuel the Brain

A wonderful site to learn elementary skills such as math, science, and reading using games and interactives. Lots of educational resources too, including teacher guides and articles, printables and mini-books.

Funbrain

Browse K-8 educational games by grade level, popularity, and topics like math, grammar, and vocabulary. Lots of amusing animals featured to keep kids engaged.

A wide variety of games, activities, and videos for kids.

Gamequarium

A popular site with lots of games in a wide variety of subject areas. Includes free test prep resources, holiday-themed games and videos, and resources for teachers such as writing prompts, lessons plans, and printable worksheets.

GameUp

This innovative site from the creators of BrainPop provides games on their interactive animated videos. Subjects include science, social studies, English, STEM topics and more.

Gimkit

Created by a high school student, Gimkit bills itself as a gameshow for the classroom. Reports for educators are generated after every game played.

iCivics

A fantastic free site founded by Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor with an educational portal for learning about civics and a standards-based game and curriculum unit search.

Kahoot

One of the most popular sites for gamifying the classroom. Teachers creates games and quizzes and students answer them on their mobile devices. Offers a plan for every budget - free basic, pro and premium.

Kidz Page

A fun site for preK-8 educational games. Kids can explore math and number games, word games, picture games, sudoku, logic puzzles and more.

Knoword 

An excellent fast-paced vocabulary game with a teacher portal where educators can create their own "word" packs and track students' progress.

Learning Games for Kids

A great site for educational games on lots of different subject areas. Games of every type can be found, from animal games to U.S. state games. Also included are videos, lessons, typing practice and much more.

Lure of the Labyrinth

An innovative game for middle school pre-algebra students, offering math-based puzzles woven into an exciting and heroic adventure.

Math Chimp

A nice little site for finding math games, worksheets, and videos.

MinecraftEdu 

A unique game based on the popular PC designed specifically for schools. Extensive classroom resources include lesson plans, training for educators, challenge building and more.

Numbers League

An award-winning math game in a comic book style designed for all ages.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac for Kids features fun games, riddles and puzzles, to supplement any online learning for young children. 

 

Pipo Games

A nice site for educational games for ages 3-12 years. A paid site unlocks all the features.

Play Brighter

A fantastic site filled with educational games on a wide variety of subjects, built on their unique anime-style interface. Teachers select questions from over 15,000 available to create their own games. Students choose avatars and earn “currency” to customize them.

Play Kids Games

A fun site for educational games in subject areas such as math, vocabulary, and geography.

Play4A

A nice site where teachers can create educational games to help with their curriculum.

An excellent free online math game designed for grades 1-8.

Sheppard Software

A nice site offering hundreds of free games, grouped by grade level and including subjects such as animals, geography, chemistry, vocabulary, grammar, math and STEM topics.

Skoolbo

Wonderful educational games for core skills in the primary grade levels.

Socrates

An innovative new site where educators can differentiate instruction through a unique game-based learning system. Reporting tools help teachers track students’ progress.

The Time Tribe

An excellent game for grades 5 and up, combining adventure video gameplay with history, archeology and world culture.

TypeTastic

A terrific keyboarding site for K-12 students offering more than 400 games..

Vedoque 

A nice site for educational games preK - 8th grade. Whimsical games like Multifruit Trees, The Mouse Maze and Play With Sol Lewitt's Painting will engage students with their original styles.

 

 

ZooWhiz

Kids 4-15 years create their own virtual zoo and develop math and reading skills. Guidelines for teachers are included.
