Courses taught :

Accounting 1 - This course provides the student with a thorough introduction to the basic principles of Accounting.  The course will provide a foundation for the student whose career interest is to pursue a college degree in Accounting and/or a related business field.  Accounting I will provide a foundation of accounting concepts and principles helpful to perspective business majors.  For students interested in gaining a greater knowledge of accounting concepts and principles, continued study in Accounting II is suggested.

 

Computer Integrated Software I - This course will offer students the opportunity to explore and increase computer proficiency by using Microsoft Office and the MOUS 2000 user specialist program.  The hands on course will expose students to MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel.  Exposure to this course will enable the student to develop a professional portfolio, which will include a demonstrated proficiency of word processing, presentation software, and spreadsheets.  This course will maximize students’ effectiveness and proficiency in the use of computers and will enable those students who elect to take the Microsoft Office Users Specialist (MOUS) National certification exam and successfully pass it to receive MOUS certification.  Students are strongly encouraged to take the certification exam in one or more office applications; however, it is not mandatory.

 

Computer Integrated Software II - Appropriate support skills will be necessary for admittance into this Advanced Software concentrated course.  This course is targeted for those students who intend to pursue a career in computers and enable them to complete a three-year cycle on the secondary level.  Students will be proficient in MS Excel and MS Access.  Students will integrate and link all software tools.  Classroom visitations by outside agencies will be encouraged.  Students will be expected to produce a portfolio of professional quality work.  Completion of this course will allow the students to relate more meaningfully to technology oriented professional careers.
